The Lost Series Finale is here! This Sunday, May 23rd, Lost finally comes to a conclusion — but here’s some sneak peaks, and perhaps a few spoilers, to watch and whet your Lost appetite. When the “Lost” finale airs Sunday, May 23, the episode will run from 9 to 11:30 p.m. The overrun will air instead of the local news, with the “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost” post-finale special remaining at 11:30 p.m. ABC is expected to announce the plan on Tuesday night’s episode of Kimmel.
However, the Lost Saga will continue — here’s the news:
Turns out two and a half hours just wasn’t enough screen time for Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse to tell the whole story they wanted to tell us. An ABC source confirms to me that after Sunday’s series finale, titled “The End,” airs from 9 – 11:30 pm ET/PT, the season six DVD (as well as the complete series collection, out on DVD and Blu-ray August 24) will continue the saga with upwards of twenty minutes of additional storyline. “It’s in production now,” confirms the source, who couldn’t yet confirm the actual running time of the new scenes. “Damon and Carlton wanted to offer fans answers to additional questions they couldn’t get to in the body of the final show.” – from TVGuide
In a press conference this week, Lindelof and Cuse sat down with ABC News Diane Sawyer and filled in a few of the blanks without giving too much away. Actually they whetted my appetite a little more, if that is possible.
In the interview, below, Sawyer, (Diane, not James) allows some of the ABC staff to pose questions to the producers. They reveal that many, but perhaps not all of our questions will be answered tonight. A few of the things that WILL be revealed include:
What is Walt’s continuing significance?
What were polar bears doing on the island?
Why can’t women give birth to healthy babies on the island?
