Back in 1780, the ship Hermione carried a trio of essentials to North America: a young Marquis de Lafayette, vital French aide for the American Revolution, and barrels of blissful cognac. Now, 235 years after its historic voyage, the Hermione is at it again, bringing some of the best of France to Americans in need.
It only took 17 years to remake, but finally, the authentically reconstructed ship is returning. Already having set sail from France, it is on course to travel 3,819 miles across the Atlantic and make landfall at historic Jamestown on June 5th, before continuing up the coast to celebrate in 11 more ports of call.
The Marquis long since passed and that Revolution already won, this Hermione voyage will still carry some original-style cargo: the cognac!
In honor of French cognac house Hennessy’s 250th anniversary, two barrels of Limited Edition 250 Collector Blend (only 250 available worldwide!) are aging on board Hermione and will unload when the ship docks at Mt. Vernon and New York, where charities at each location will auction one for worthy causes.
Anticipate this on board bounty to raise upwards of $150,000!
