A rustic French restaurant and a luxuriously swish Chinese bar have been named the most stylish hangouts by the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2014.

Designed by the agency Jouin Manku, the large open space places an emphasis on industrial materials such as wood, leather and metal, with colour palettes kept as neutral as possible.
A timber and metal spiral staircase acts as a centrepiece for the space.
Concentric circular structures were also on the menu at W Hotel’s “FEI” in Guangzhou, the venue crowned “Best overall bar.” (pictured below)
Created by Japanese studio A.N.D., the creation is a sensory overload of marble, brass, polished wood, parquet flooring and backlit LED wall lights which fuse together to create a thoroughly indulgent aesthetic.
The winners were selected by a judging panel of design experts and artists including CEO & President of Design Hotels Claus Sendlinger, designer Thomas Heatherwick and Vice President of Design at Swarovski Niko Saurma.
