LeAF – Love the Earth Fashion by Debra Kellner and Marie-Hélène Gautier marries organic cotton fabric with relaxed silhouettes for spring 2010. The cotton is purchased from marginalized producers and workers and does not pollute; leave any by-products, and is never overproduced. The French-based brand will be introduced in Barneys New York this April. Debra Kellner

Born and raised in the Canadian outback – After beginning a career in the Stock Exchange, Debra traded the world of skyscrapers for the silk road as a photographer, author, and cinematographer. For the last 15 years, Debra has lived, traveled and worked extensively throughout Asia with a special focus on India and Nepal. She has published with magazines like National Geographic, Paris Match, Geo, Le Figaro, Elle, Stern, The New York Times, etc. In addition, she has published several books : Himalaya, L’enfance D’un Chef with La Martiniere, Himalaya – A Chief’s Childhood with Abrams, Les Princesses de la Foret by La Martiniere and La Piste by Le Chene. She is currently finishing a novel which
takes place in Central Asia as well as directing her first feature film – The Pilgrimage, which takes place in Bhutan and India. Today, she divides her time between Asia and Europe where she works and lives with her husband and two children. Marie-Hélène Gautier

Born in Paris, France, Marie-Hélène has worked in the fashion industry for more than 15 years. During her studies at the Sorbonne University, she worked as a fashion model for some of the most well known designers. Today, she is among one of the most well-known fashion editors in France, she has collaborated with Le Monde Fashion Supplement, French Cosmopolitan and contributes regularly to French Marie Claire. In recent years, she started an internet site to show that it is possible to combine esthetics and ecology and she wrote a report for the UNEP (United Nation Environment Program) about the relation that can exist between fashion and sustainability. Marie has always dreamed of making clothes people want to wear.
