Karl Lagerfeld’s fans in America will soon be able shop the German fashion designer’s creations on their homeland. The eponymous brand is making its way to the US shore once again after being discontinued throughout North America in 2006.
WWD reports that Karl Lagerfeld has teamed up with New York-based G-III firm for the development of the iconic designer’s namesake brand in the North American market.Under the terms of the agreement, Karl Lagerfeld Group BV has assigned the Karl Lagerfeld marks for all consumer products (except eyewear, fragrance, cosmetics, watches, jewelry, and hospitality services) and apparel in the United States and Canada.The collection will be under Lagerfeld’s artistic direction, producing both womenswear and men’s outwear along with a line of handbags targeted towards the American market. Karl Lagerfeld line will be launched in department stores which will be followed by an opening of its New York flagship in 2016.
