He is everywhere, the messiah of fashion world is seen on the ramp, behind-the-scenes, in the workshops, in front of the camera and behind the lenses as well. To top it all, now a whole exhibition has been curated to pay homage to Karl Lagerfeld. The Karl Lagerfeld ModeMethode Exhibition is taking place at the Bundeskunsthalle museum in Bonn. Located at the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany, it is scheduled to run until September 13th.
It is the first comprehensive exhibition that digs into the fashionable world of Karl and enlightens about the fashion history of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Curated by Lady Amanda Harlech and Rein Wolfs, the Modemethode, which translates to fashion method, throws light on Karl Lagerfeld’s ambitious, all-encompassing approach which evolves from the initial sketch to the finished garment, from the accessories, the architectural setting and music of the fashion shows, to the photographs and graphic design of press material, advertising, catalogues and window displays. He is known to look in to every last little detail personally.
The world’s most renowned fashion designer deserves the honor as he has dedicated over 30 years of his life at Chanel and about 50 years at Fendi. The man has been heralding trends since the past sixty years and has successfully lead fashion into new directions.Synonymous to Karl Lagerfeld, his own eponymous label, along with Chanel and Fendi, Karl has also been associated with luxury houses such as Balmain, Patou and Chloé.The exhibition will allow fans and visitors to experience a selection of his most emblematic creations from all four houses alongside countless accessories, illustrations and photographs. Beginning with a sketch, ending with photography and exploring the most noteworthy chapters in Lagerfeld’s professional career in between, the “Karl Lagerfeld: Modemethode” is on exhibition from March 28th to September 13th, 2015, at the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany, Emil-Nolde-Straße 11, 53113 Bonn. With a deep intention to show the world that Karl is a genius, Harlech announces that “This is not a retrospective. Karl’s against it. He is a man of the present and the future.”Karl Lagerfeld And Bundeskunsthalle
