Julien Macdonald has announced his plans of launching a bespoke service in the coming year. Entitled “Julien Macdonald Bespoke,” the new business will feature an in-house workshop devoted to the made-to-measure service. The atelier will be located at Macdonald’s headquarters, a London townhouse at 28 Savile Row.
“I’m really excited about setting up the atelier. I’ve always tried to source UK fabrics and use UK manufacturers for my (ready-to-wear) collections, so having a dedicated in-house atelier to produce made-in-Britain pieces for my clients is a dream come true. Working closely with a client to create a special outfit is so much fun, and I love the idea of being able to do more of that,” the designer told WWD.
