Thanks to a new auction at Sotheby’s, one lucky Beatles fan can own an incredible piece of rock history: the handwritten lyrics to “A Day in the Life,” one of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. John Lennon’s lyrics for the epic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band closing track will be sold to the highest bidder on June 18th at the New York auction house. The estimated closing price, according to Reuters: $500,000 to $700,000. The lyric sheet on the block isn’t the final draft, but Lennon’s rough sketch of what eventually became the album track — there are crossed-out words and spelling mistakes, like, “I saw a flim today, oh boy.” – From Rolling Stone
