Jill Martin Honored with City of Hope’s Spirit of Life Award

The City of Hope East End Chapter/Jeanne Kaye League celebrated NBC Today Show’s Lifestyle Correspondent Jill Martin with its prestigious Spirit of Life® Award at a glamorous luncheon held on June 3 at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. The event, emceed by auctioneer Letitia Frye, raised nearly $800,000 to support breast cancer research and innovative treatments at City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading cancer research and treatment organizations.

A Heartfelt Honor

Presented by Kathie Lee Gifford, the award recognized Martin’s resilience and advocacy following her own breast cancer journey, which she has openly shared with Today Show viewers. With her most recent surgery just last week, Martin delivered an emotional speech, expressing gratitude for her support system and urging attendees to prioritize regular health check-ups.

“This award is not just about me—it’s about the collective fight against cancer and the hope that research brings,” Martin shared. “Every dollar raised today brings us closer to a future where no one has to face this disease alone.”

A Legacy of Impact

The Spirit of Life® Award is City of Hope’s highest honor, bestowed upon leaders who champion advancements in cancer research and patient care. Past recipients include luminaries from business, entertainment, and philanthropy, united by their dedication to improving lives.

The luncheon’s live auction, a signature highlight, energized guests to contribute generously, with funds directly benefiting breast cancer research and personalized care initiatives.
