The 5th annual International Film Festival of Los Cabos, presented by Cinemex, is currently underway in Los Cabos, Mexico, attracting film enthusiasts with presentations from some of the most important festivals in the world as well as attendance by a host of notable screen names.
The 2016 Festival opened November 9th with a showing of Jackie, starring Natalie Portman in the role of the legendary Jacqueline Kennedy, and will close November 13th with Captain Fantastic, a film about a Dad who decides to educate his children away from consumerism and “civilized society,” but after an unfortunate event is forced to return to it.
All in all, the Festival showcases 45 national and international titles — six of which are world premieres.
Not only will this year’s Festival feature the presence of Ana Serradilla, Ilse Salas, Manuel García Rulfo, Jacob Tremblay, Michael Peña, Craig Robinson, and Dennis Quaid, but popular documentarian Morgan Spurlock will return to present his latest, Rats (about the persistence of rodents) and popular Mexican entertainer Natalia Lafourcade will not only present the world premiere of a documentary about her latest album, Hasta la Raiz, but will also play a full length concert.
Tributes will be paid to American filmmaker and three-time Oscar winner Oliver Stone, cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, and Italian actress Monica Bellucci.
