As the Salon de Haute Horlogerie watch show celebrates its Silver Anniversary in Geneva, Switzerland, IWC Schaffhausen CEO George Kern hosted a star-studded gala dinner Tuesday night. Traditionally the high-point of the week-long event, this year’s IWC ‘Journey To The Stars’ Gala dinner was remarkably understated… but not under-attended by A listers!
Actors, models and race car drivers — like Christoph Waltz, Karolina Kurkova, Emily Blunt, Adriana Lima, Zhou Xun, Lewis Hamilton, Dev Pael and Nico Rosberg — all appeared with punctuality to fete 25 years of the Salon de Haute Horlogerie and the 75th anniversary of IWC’s bestselling Portuguese watch range.
German actor Moritz Bleibtreu took over as Master of Ceremonies for the first time from event regular Kevin Spacey (not in attendance), leading attendees though a history of watches, dubbed the “celestial origins of time.” Illusionists and Chinese drummers served as entertainment before a featured presentation from Mick Hucknall (Faces frontman, formerly of Simply Red) singing “If You Don’t Know Me By Now.”
