Remember high school math, where you learned the meaning of “Pi” was something other than a delicious pastry filled with fruit or meat? Now Pi has its own holiday — appropriately held annually on March 14th in nod to the number, which values approximately 3.14.
What was once celebrated just by ‘math geeks’  getting together, now has gathered momentum with all types celebrating the number pi. Appropriately, March 14th is also Albert Einstein’s birthday. Some of our favorite luxury hotels have merged geek and luxe with inventive packages just for the day. We’ve listed a few of our favorites offering these “ultimate nerd day” deals, below:
The Charles, Boston
The highly academic hotel The Charles on Harvard square are holding a one of a kind FLASH SALE in anticipation of Pi Day celebrated on March 14th.  The day before Pi DayFriday March 13th, the hotel website will share an incredible offer of 31.4% off the best available rates across all rooms categories. The sale will run from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m and is available for travel dates: March 14th 2015 (Pi Day) – May 11th 2015 . Over the past 25 years, The Charles has welcomed celebrities, scholars, moguls, artists, philanthropists, politicians, opinion-makers and world leaders. From Barbra Streisand to former President Bill Clinton from Supreme Court Justices to Ben Affleck to even His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Rancho Bernardo Inn, San Diego

Tucked away in the hillside of San Diego, Rancho Bernardo Inn is a quaint spa and golf resort ideal for a family getaway. With optimal weather year-round, The Inn invites guests to experience the best of San Diego with wellness offerings, 18-hole golf course and premier dining venues. This National Pi Day, RBI’s resident Pastry Chef Margaret Caravallo is offering signature mini key lime pies — for the price of $3.14. Known amongst the locals for her notable sweet treats, Chef Margaret is always creating unique offerings for guests of all ages. Recipe available upon request. More information: http://www.ranchobernardoinn.com/
The Grant Grill, San Diego

The Grant Grill is offering a twist of citrus and digits for a mathematical theme in honor of Pi Day. The cocktails infused with seasonal citrus and winter spice incorporate a variety of uniquely paired spices with local winter produce to create a provocative list of unusual cocktails. A fun addition to the menu includes the Spice Challenge Quartet, where guests interact with four mini-cocktails by guessing each of the four spices artfully curated into each. If guests can guess the correct spices, they are awarded with a cocktail on the house.
A toast to the beginning of the famous sequence of numbers, on Saturday, March 14th, 2015, (3.14) the hotel will be offering a slice of pie for only $3.14 during breakfast service served from 7:30AM to 10:00AM.
