Hermès is adding a new essential to its accessories collection: the pen. The Paris-based luxury house has unveiled the Nautilus Pen and a complementary collection of writing accessories, the result of a collaboration between Hermès Artistic Director Pierre-Alexis Dumas and Australian designer Marc Newson.
“The Nautilus pen marks the birth of a new family of Hermès objects, created to capture your emotions, impressions and ideas on the spur of the moment,” explains Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director of Hermès.
The Nautilus pen is named after Captain Nemo’s submarine from the 1870 novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by French writer Jules Verne, admired by both Newson and Dumas.
The much-anticipated Hermès pen and writing accessories are available at select Hermès boutiques worldwide.
