An SUV that can go 260 km/h. Wow.
There must be something about the Mercedes G-Wagen’s stubbornly utilitarian boxiness that inspires auto enhancers to new heights of folly. How else to explain Teutonic tuning firm Hamann’s new Typhoon G-Class, based on the standard AMG-prepped Mercedes-Benz G55 SUV? Fitted with Hamann’s high performance HM600 power kit, the juiced-up juggernaut kicks out an insane 600 hp and 576lb-ft of torque, and can do 0 – 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds, even with all that ballast, while top speed is an astonishing 260 km/h. As yet no one has provided the answer to why in hell you’d need to drive an SUV so fast – and don’t even think of taking a corner. – From James List
