Collaborations between two brands or designers aren’t new and seem to be the latest trend to enhance business and boost up marketing too. Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney have also hopped on to the collab-wagon and worked together on a capsule collection for the former’s lifestyle site, Goop.
The clothing collection rolled out by the duo is christened Stella McCartney x Goop and consists of staple, must-have items for a fashionista’s closet. Including black blazer, charcoal gray knit jumpsuit, black wool trouser, black jeans and exclusive handbags too, the lineup has been primarily designed by Stella. While 2013’s most beautiful woman, Gwyneth (as rated by People’s mag), has played the role of a curator for the same.
Speaking to WWD, Gwyneth Paltrow summed up, “I think of myself as a woman who is a lover of beautiful things. I’m very specific about my taste. The role I want in a partnership is curating a collection as opposed to taking a designer point of view. I can tweak a blazer and make it the perfect blazer. It’s being able to fulfill what my ideal things ought to be.” Stella McCartney spoke, in admiration of her best friend, “I have quite a lot of admiration for her at so many levels and that’s a big part of how I design. Her spirit and inner beauty as well as outer beauty are a big inspiration for me. I draw from that every day from all my friends.”
The line will launch on September 12th with prices starting at around $800.
