What is Brad Bird’s 1952 all about?…

It’s a mysterious movie project helmed by Bird, the director of The Incredibles and Mission Impossible.

Now, the George Clooney-starring movie, from Disney, is called Tomorrowland… And, of course, Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom are home to the futuristic land of Tomorrowland…

Here’s what Disney has shared on Bird’s next movie: The Walt Disney Studios has announced that its live-action release previously known as 1952 will be titled Tomorrowland. The film will be released domestically on December 19, 2014. George Clooney (The Descendants) is set to star. Tomorrowland is written by Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird from a concept by Lindelof and Jeff Jensen. Lindelof (Star Trek, Lost, Prometheus) will produce and Bird (The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) will produce and direct.

Lastly, via The Disney Parks Blog, they’ve asked if you’ve “Seen This Box?” (pictured above…)

We’ve been hearing a lot about a box full of unexplained artifacts that is the basis of a film starring George Clooney being developed at The Walt Disney Studios. The project is known as 1952 (although we’ve just learned it’s now called Tomorrowland – okay, we’re officially intrigued) and is from The Incredibles director Brad Bird and Lost creator Damon Lindelof. Last week, the pair tweeted out tantalizing pictures of this mysterious box purportedly found in the Walt Disney Imagineering archives. What’s in the box, and what does it have to do with us? We’re as eager as you are to find out.

Not much is known about Tomorrowland AKA 1952. A few months ago, Deadline stated: The film, which Lindelof is writing with Jeff Jensen, is a closely guarded secret at Disney, but it’s a big-scale tentpole film.

As we asked… What is Brad Bird’s 1952 all about?…
