Though the Chatsworth property was not owned by the American artist, it has hit the headlines as Frank Sinatra had rented the same estate for nearly a decade. Home to one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century, the Californian estate is set on a a 14-acre hillock that offers panoramic views of the city as well as the mountain.
Listed on the market for $7.5 million, the mid-century modern-style house has also hosted the shooting of the second season of Mad Men.
Originally owned by Chase Manhattan Bank heiress Dora Hutchinson to thrown lavish Hollywood parties, the Farralone estate was designed by architect William Pereira, whose notable works include New York’s Kennedy Center, the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco and the LAX Theme Building.The estate flaunts the 10,000-square foot main house which comprises of four bedrooms a bar, a den-office, multiple fireplaces and six bathrooms.
The sixteen-foot-tall walls of glass illuminate the 6,661 square feet of interiors with natural light. While the main 50 foot pool features a flagstone deck, a circular smaller swimming pool is bordered by an expanse of lawn off the 1,000-square-foot guest house.
