At Pursuitist, we’ve been following Formula 1 for over 15 years — from Monaco’s midnight paddocks to Austin’s sunlit straights — and we’re thrilled to see the sport finding a sleek new home. Beginning next year, Formula 1 will stream exclusively on Apple TV, marking a bold five-year partnership between Apple and F1 that redefines how fans in the United States will experience the world’s fastest show on wheels.

Apple TV, already our go-to destination for beautifully produced series, films, and live sports, now adds the ultimate motorsport to its roster. It’s a perfect match: Apple’s precision design and storytelling sensibility paired with Formula 1’s relentless pursuit of innovation and speed. Together, they’re crafting a new era for racing — one that feels as cinematic as it is thrilling.

Apple and Formula 1 have announced a new five-year partnership that will bring every Grand Prix — from lights out to the checkered flag — exclusively to Apple TV in the United States beginning next year. It’s a landmark deal that fuses innovation, cinematic storytelling, and world-class sport under one polished, minimalist interface.

For those of us who already spend weekends toggling between Ted Lasso, Masters of the Air, and a live MLS match on Apple TV, this feels like the natural next lap. Apple has quietly turned its streaming platform into one of the most elegant destinations for discerning viewers — and now, with Formula 1 joining the lineup, it’s adding speed, sound, and spectacle to its growing stable of originals and live sports.

The New Era of F1 on Apple TV

Apple TV subscribers will get complete, uninterrupted coverage of every race weekend — all practice sessions, qualifying, Sprints, and the full Grand Prix calendar. Select races and all practice sessions will even be available free in the Apple TV app.

The experience won’t stop there. Apple is integrating Formula 1 across its ecosystem: real-time leaderboards and standings on the Apple Sports app, curated playlists on Apple Music, coverage on Apple News, and even wellness tie-ins on Apple Fitness+. For those with Apple TV subscriptions, F1 TV Premium will also be included at no extra cost.

“This partnership gives fans front-row access to one of the most exciting sports on the planet,” says Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services. “We look forward to delivering premium and innovative fan-first coverage in a way only Apple can.”

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali echoed the excitement, calling it “an incredibly exciting partnership” that builds on the success of F1 The Movie — Apple Original Films’ high-octane blockbuster that became the highest-grossing sports movie of all time.

From the Big Screen to Your Screen

Speaking of F1 The Movie, it’s set to make its global streaming debut on Apple TV on December 12, 2025. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton, and Brad Pitt — who also stars — the film has already crossed $629 million worldwide and earned a glowing 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s not only a record-breaking film; it’s a statement of intent. Apple has shown that it can produce cinematic quality that rivals Hollywood, and now it’s positioning itself as the ultimate destination for sports storytelling — both scripted and live.

Why This Matters

Formula 1’s American fanbase has exploded — now 52 million strong, with nearly half of new fans under 25 and a growing female audience. The timing couldn’t be better. With Apple’s immersive technology, sleek design, and unmatched production values, the sport is poised to reach new audiences while keeping its loyal fans deeply engaged.

As 2026 ushers in new F1 teams, new regulations, and next-generation cars, Apple’s exclusive coverage feels like the start of something genuinely transformative.

At Pursuitist, we’ve long admired Apple TV’s curated sophistication — elegant storytelling, impeccable production, and a user experience that simply works. Now, as Formula 1 joins the grid, Apple’s platform has never felt more thrilling.
