Dating back to 1900, Rauhalinna is known as the jewel of Finnish Lakeland, a Finnish architectural landmark that is arguably the country’s most luxurious lace villa. The opulent historic estate is again open for exclusive bookings for up to 20 guests, following an extensive $17.5 million restoration and expansion.
The property is more than 100 hectares including 3.4 km of shoreline on Lake Saimaa, and a collection of several buildings on site. The original four-bedroom Villa Rauhalinna houses an elaborate Grand Dining Hall and Salon, a billiards lounge, the dramatic Turkish Room, and various other entertaining and living spaces.

Next door to the villa is the two–bedroom Pavilion House (an exact replica of the original building that once stood there, including the sauna), and a modern four-bedroom Guest House, ideal for those who prefer more contemporary accommodations and furnishings.

Located on the shore, the Lakehouse is a sleek-lined modern natural haven. The Lakehouse features an expansive lounge, summer room, full kitchen, Jacuzzi, fire pit, private swimming pier, a standard sauna and a smoke sauna, which is the oldest and most traditional type of Finnish sauna.

Lake Saimaa also provides a home for the rare Saimaa ringed seal which can be seen basking on the nearby shore. A private pier encourages guest arrival and exploration by private yacht or steamboat, the latter offering an unforgettable combination of tradition and natural beauty. There is also a helipad on property for guests who prefer to arrive by air.

Rauhalinna is located in Savonlinna, 333 km northeast of Helsinki, Finland. The property welcomes guests year-round with enriching activities, including mushroom foraging, hiking, biking, water activities galore, ice fishing, and occasional sightings of the Northern Lights. Rauhalinna provides an enchanting setting for weddings, private leisure celebrations and formal occasions for up to 50 guests, with summer events extending seamlessly outdoors for as many as 80.
Nightly rates for the 10 bedroom buyout start at US$9,930 per night in low season and USD$13,430 in high season.
