In February, Cara Delevingne made heads turn by walking down the ramp with a Karl Lagerfeld doll at Fendi Fall/Winter 2014-15 fashion show. Now the much-awaited doll aka Karlito has been launched. Though Karl-designed collection sells like hot cakes, the rush to own a mini Karl bag charm is such that it already has a waiting list of over 600.
To celebrate the in-store launch of Fendi’s favorite fuzzy friend Karlito, the brand’s Parisian boutique was buzzing with celebrity guests. The mastermind himself posed with his look-alike furry charm at the Karlito cocktail party. Even the label’s latest craze of vending machine upped the entertaining aura of the launch party.
Karlito is dressed to resemble the desingner with his signature sunglasses that are made from black mink. Also wearing a black nappa leather tie and a white shirt collar, the silver fox body charm features the goat’s hair tuft above Karlito’s ponytail which is available in choice of orange, hot pink and blue.
Fendi’s special edition lookalike of creative mind Karl Lagerfeld is available for pre-order (about $1,300) at selected boutiques worldwide. WWD states that the deliveries will start in September, accompanied by special window displays emblazoned with “Love Karl.”
