The POD Hotel in Camps Bay, South Africa was envisioned and implemented by Greg Wright Architects and showcases a highly modern design and architecture. The 15 room building allows extensive views of Camps Bay Beach, Table Mountain, Lions Head or the 12 Apostles- Cape Town’s most representative tourist attractions. The hotel ensures a large degree of privacy, due to its many shuttering walls and screens.
Discovered by Pursuitist here, the POD Hotel has a total of four levels and each communicates with its surrounding environment through generously-sized terraces. According to the architects, its rooms are “a series of open plan spaces that belie the compact footprint they actually occupy. Spaces feel generous and comfortable and are finished in a palette of natural materials (timber, slate, granite) that relate directly to the context in which the building is located“. The social areas abound in creative textures and materials, the overall result being that of a highly sophisticated, luxurious and somewhat exclusive hotel.
