In an exclusive conversation with Pursuitist Editor-in-Chief Christopher Parr, Eva Longoria shares how Casa Del Sol is more than just a premium spirits brand—it’s a movement empowering women and redefining luxury tequila.
Eva Longoria, celebrated actress, director, and entrepreneur, has added yet another impressive venture to her repertoire: Casa Del Sol, an ultra-premium tequila brand that she has co-founded with Mariana Padilla and Alejandra Pelayo. With a deep-rooted passion for uplifting women in business and a sharp sense of elegance, Longoria has helped shape Casa Del Sol, bringing sustainability and community to the forefront of the category.
At the heart of Casa Del Sol’s craftsmanship are Pelayo and Padilla, whose deep-rooted tequila heritage shapes the brand’s identity. Pelayo, a protégé of Patron creator Francisco Alcaraz, oversees production with masterful expertise, while Padilla, daughter of Jalisco’s cultural icon Paco Padilla, infuses the brand with generations of artistic heritage. Together with Longoria and Carmen Gonzalez Alfaro (Master Distiller at Casa Del Sol), they blend tradition and innovation, crafting a tequila rich in both culture and quality.

The extremely busy and successful Longoria recently made waves with her directorial debut, Flamin’ Hot, which earned critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination. She seamlessly transitioned back to television, starring in and executive producing Apple TV+’s Land of Women and taking on a recurring role in season 4 of Only Murders in the Building. Up next, she stars in Disney+’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (March 28), Amazon MGM’s Oh. What. Fun. and The Pickup, and executive produces the FX and Disney+ docuseries on Mexican soccer team Club Necaxa, alongside Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Beyond entertainment, Longoria remains a dedicated philanthropist and activist, recently receiving the Bezos Courage & Civility Award for her advocacy work. She’s also an investor in Siete Foods (which just sold to PepsiCo for $1.2B), founder of Hyphenate Media Group, while also celebrating 20 years as a global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris.
Eva took a moment out of her bustling schedule to chat with Pursuitist about Casa Del Sol, offering a spirited glimpse into her latest passion.
Christopher Parr: Eva, thank you for taking the time to talk to us today about tequila—specifically, your brand, Casa Del Sol. Can you share what’s new with the premium spirits brand?
Eva Longoria: Thank you. It’s our winter season in Aspen, and our espresso martini with tequila has become the drink of the moment. It’s been exploding in popularity, and that’s because our tequila is aged in cognac barrels, giving it this naturally sweet finish with no additives. It pairs beautifully with espresso, and it’s become the cocktail of winter.
* Editor’s Note: You’ll find the Casa Del Sol Espresso Martini recipe at the end of this article.

Casa Del Sol has a distinct aesthetic and ethos. How does the brand’s style and values align with your own approach to life?
Eva: The reason I invested in Casa Del Sol was because of the incredible women behind it. Tequila is the number one spirit for women, yet if you look at the market, so many brands are marketed towards men. When I saw that Casa Del Sol had a female master distiller—something still very rare in the industry—I knew I had to be involved. My entire career has been about empowering women, and this brand aligns perfectly with that mission. More than just selling tequila, I want to uplift the women behind it and disrupt the industry with a fresh perspective.
How do you hope Casa Del Sol will inspire more women to pursue careers in the spirits industry? What advice would you give?
Eva: Perseverance is key. The tequila industry is deeply rooted in Mexico, specifically in Jalisco and the town of Tequila itself. If you want to be a part of it, you have to immerse yourself in it. My advice to women—whether they want to be a distiller, an entrepreneur, or a master blender—is to truly learn the craft. Be undeniable in your skills, and learn by doing. Just dive in.
Do you have any personal cocktail rituals or favorite tequila traditions?
Eva: I love bartending—I missed my calling! I’m constantly experimenting with new recipes, and my friends love coming over because I always have a new cocktail to try. One thing I’m really into is beautiful ice. I have molds with flowers, orange juice, lemon peels—depending on the drink I’m making. Before COVID, I was a wine girl, but lockdown made me turn to cocktails, and that’s when I really fell in love with tequila. It’s such a clean, high-quality spirit that’s perfect for cocktails where you don’t need to mask the flavor.
If you could snap your fingers and whisk yourself away to any luxury resort for a Casa Del Sol cocktail, where would you go?
Eva: I’d go to the Auberge in Punta De Mita—it has a Casa Del Sol tequila tasting room. You can experience our entire portfolio there. We’re an ultra-premium brand, so we’re all about sipping tequila. No salt, no lime—just enjoying it as it is meant to be enjoyed.

What’s next for Casa Del Sol? How do you see the brand evolving?
Eva: We’re expanding globally, which is so exciting. We just launched in France, and I’ve been in Paris for the rollout. Because we age our tequila in cognac barrels, the French really resonate with the flavor profile. This summer, we’re launching in Spain, Ibiza, Formentera, and Madrid—so all the fun places! By the fourth quarter of this year, we have some exciting new products coming as well.
Very exciting! Eva, thank you for speaking with the Pursuitist. It has truly been a pleasure.
Eva Longoria’s passion for Casa Del Sol goes far beyond creating a luxury tequila—it’s about making an impact. With an ethos rooted in female empowerment and an unwavering commitment to quality, Casa Del Sol is redefining the tequila industry. Whether it’s sipping an espresso martini in Aspen, experiencing the tasting room at Auberge, or expanding into new global markets, Longoria’s vision for the brand is clear: excellence, empowerment, and unforgettable experiences.
