The Italian brand renowned for its signature Sicilian style is wooing women in the Arab world with the debut of its collection of luxurious abayas and hijabs. The well-heeled women from the Middle East now have an opportunity to flaunt the luxury label’s designs without topping them with their not-so-high-branded abayas. The Italian fashion house celebrates the inimitable dolce vita that is distinct to them in the Arab world as it launches the first collection aimed at its Muslim consumers with a range of abayas and hijabs in its signature colorful prints. While most of the collection is based on neutral shades of black and beige, the pieces feature prints of Dolce & Gabbana staples, including flowers, fruit and polkadots, constructed in delicate silk and trimmed with lace and satin. The fashion conscious women who prefer to dress conservatively to respect their religion will jump at the idea of wearing a full-length, sleeveless outer garment and a head covering designed by Dolce & Gabbana. Till now these women could only show off their love for the high-end fashion brand by sporting its bags, footwear, sunglasses and other accessories which could be seen in spite of wearing the abaya and hijab.
Italian fashion designer and co-founder of the Dolce & Gabbana, Stefano Gabbana, also posted some of the images to his Instagram account to announce the launch of the embellished hijabs and abayas.
