The Alfred Dunhill Atmos Regulator clock is a stunning (and pricey) item.
In the 1930s, Alfred Dunhill’s sleek lighters and cigarette cases and Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso watches embodied the rectilinear moderne aesthetic that defined the Art Deco design movement. This year, the two brands collaborated to create the Alfred Dunhill Atmos Regulator clock ($70,600). Drawing inspiration from Dunhill’s archives, designers employed black varnish, clear and tinted glass, and black stingray leather to produce 28 of these sleek, masculine regulator clocks that display hours and minutes on separate dials. Jaeger’s Atmos movement, which derives its energy from minute changes in temperature, is a timely, energy-efficient concept that can also be traced back to the 1930s, when Jaeger-LeCoultre acquired the patent to produce and perfect it. – From Robb Report
