Reinterpreting the look of a former industrial building in Prague´s Karlin quarter, the Cornlofts Triplex Reconstruction showcases a creative outlook on interior spaces re-imagined to support a modern lifestyle. In order to expand the reach of natural light inside, creative minds of B2 Architecture replaced pieces of the original floor plate with glass. This also gives access to different perspectives on the space, maximizing the effect of a contemporary solution on an original industrial space.
Blending sleek materials into the industrial design upgrades the overall look, creating a balance between the old and new, between work and play. On the lowest floor, the entrance with a custom closet welcomes inhabitants and guests. This floor was separated into spaces like a guest room, nursery, the owner’s music studio and utilities space, while the upper floor was reserved for social interactions.
A modern living area visually connected on a vertical axis with the third floor creates a sense of openness. Then there is an open office overlooking the sculptural staircase leading to the private spaces – the master bedroom with a bath and two dressing rooms.
Balancing industrial and modern in a light-flooded space, this home easily became the perfect spot for its owner. Isn’t that what a dream home should be?
