Today’s luxury home comes from Israeli architectural design office Pitsou Kedem and is located in Haifa, Israel. Entitled “The Bauhaus Residence”, the project pays tribute to a style characterized by function, rather than aesthetics.

Bauhaus is the name of a German school of art, design, and architecture founded in 1919 by architect Walter Gropius, who aimed to mix art, design, architecture, and crafts into a single study area. The main features of the Bauhaus style in architecture are functionality above ornamentation and asymmetry over symmetry. If you look closely, you will see these principles applied in the design of this particular residence.

The sophistication and the minimalism that existed at the heyday of the Bauhaus period have been translated, in this latest reincarnation, into a property with spatial purity and prestigious restraint”, claim Pitsou Kedem Architects.

The house has a total area of 450 square feet and displays highly modern interiors, floor to ceiling windows, and a generous, inviting pool. The interiors have minimalist furniture arrangements and are flooded with natural light. The living room is the core of the residence, featuring a giant bookcase and setting a sober, “intellectual” and elegant tone for the entire home.
