Beautiful piece evoking the classic Cuervo Y Sobrinos watch from the 1940s.
Does this watch remind you of Habana? Have you been to Habana? Probably not the famous Habana (Havana) of old that was once a playground for wealthy and famous. It was around those times that Cuervo Y Sobrinos was a thriving Cuban watch brand. Years later the company is now Swiss owned, and their latest models is a direct throw back to the 1940s. This new watch is the limited edition of 50 pieces Cuervo Y Sobrinos Historian Chronograph. Nice touch there with the “Historian” name. The model is meant to look like a classic Cuervo Y Sobrinos watch from the 1940s and it looks it. But today’s watch is larger at 41mm wide and in 18k rose gold. Another element you would not have found on watches back then were sapphire crystals (used on the front and back of the watch), as well as the multi-level dial. – From James List
