An elegant yet playful combination of classic capitonne upholstery embraces the wooden frame of this vivid armchair. Named the Juliet Armchair, this piece of furniture was created by British designer Benjamin Hubert to celebrate Italian brand Poltrona Frau‘s 100th birthday. He was one of the twelve designers invited by the company to design an armchair for this special occasion. Presenting the richly upholstered armchair that won the prize from Poltrona Frau, Benjamin Hubert managed to reinvent the shape of a comfy armchair and give it a modern twist.
Leather in a range of colors was stretched over the base of the armchair to outline the wooden frame it stands on, while the seating widens to the top to shape a comfortable place to relax. Symbolizing Poltrona Frau’s one hundred year anniversary, the Juliet Armchair is a complex piece of furniture displaying a faceted pattern carefully built by the company’s craftsmen.
