A Grand Homecoming

After a decade of patient searching, Bulgari has found an exceptional location for its second Italian property. The company, founded by Sotirio Bulgari nearly 140 years ago, originally hails from Rome, making this opening a significant return to the brand’s roots. The much-awaited hotel, spanning 14,000 square meters across seven floors, mirrors Rome’s rich history and vibrant culture.

Architectural Brilliance

Designed by architect Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo, the building is a striking illustration of rationalist design, facing the Mausoleum of Augustus, a landmark of imperial Rome. The hotel is embedded with reminders of Rome’s past, including a marble statue of Emperor Augustus from the esteemed Torlonia collection, positioned at the center of the entrance vestibule.

The interior design of the hotel was brought to life by the renowned Italian architecture and interior design firm ACPV Architects – Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, with restoration work carried out by Studio Polis. The design is inspired by a dual reverence for the figure of Augustus and the historical building that hosts the hotel.

Artisanal Excellence

The hotel showcases Italian craftsmanship at its finest. Guests can marvel at hand-crafted mosaics inspired by iconic Bulgari motifs, Murano glass lights, and Ginori vases from the 1930s. “The Bulgari Hotel Roma is a true temple of luxury hospitality that embodies the brand’s values, notably extraordinary craftsmanship and the use of precious materials, creating an incomparable elegance,” states Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin.

Luxury Hospitality

Bulgari Hotel Roma offers a blend of Italian history and exquisite comfort. The venue hosts a variety of stunning public spaces, including a reception room, library, restaurant, champagne bar, terrace, pool, and spa. The atmosphere elegantly transitions from intimate to festive, encapsulating the prestige of the venue.

Unparalleled Amenities

Bulgari Hotel Roma boasts over 100 rooms, the majority of which are suites, a high-end spa, an indoor swimming pool, and a state-of-the-art gym offering Bulgari’s exclusive Workshop training method. The prestigious “Il Ristorante” is curated by Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito, and “The Bvlgari Bar,” both located on the top floor, offer unmatched views of the Eternal City.

Another unique feature is the Reading Room, a library containing a collection of rare books dedicated to the history of jewelry. It will be accessible to guests and the public by appointment.

A Testament to Bulgari’s Legacy

The new Bulgari Hotel Roma stands as a testament to Bulgari’s enduring legacy in Rome. The building’s exterior boasts an inscription atop a grand fountain: “This is the place where the Emperor Augustus’ soul flies through the air.” This connection to the vision of Emperor Augustus is reflected in the hotel’s interior design, which balances rigorous stonework from Imperial Rome, with rich textures and details contrasting the building’s architectural essentiality.

“We are particularly proud to have secured such an extraordinary location for the new Bulgari Hotel in Rome,” says Bvlgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin. “This hotel represents a remarkable achievement for Bulgari that will finally have its own ‘temple’ right in the city where the company was founded.”
