Displaying a striking design, each piece designed by Lee Jae-Hyo makes you wonder how the artist managed to get wood to act like that. The Korean artist sculpts wooden logs into amazing pieces of furniture and art, constructing innovative items that surprise the tree’s age and the natural material in a series of dynamic, organically shaped constructions. These biomorphic furniture pieces are made out of different types of wood like pine or chestnut.
Tree ring patterns compose a symphony of shapes expressing the natural beauty of each imperfect piece of wood, captured by the artist in a perfect sinuous or geometric shell. An agglomeration of different sized wood log slices were adjoined to shape each extraordinary piece of art or furniture that comes out of Lee Jae-Hyo’s hands. I am sure that each of you will be amazed by the fascinating items and will want to share these breathtaking art works with everyone – just like I did.
