BMW Films has released ‘The Escape’ trailer, which you can watch above. Directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium), the trailer features Clive Owen (Closer, Children of Men), who returns to his role as The Driver. Presented as an homage to the 15th anniversary of the original BMW Film series, ‘The Escape’ also stars Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds, I am Sam), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, Daredevil) and Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Up in the Air). ‘The Escape’ will premiere on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. EST on BMWFilms.com.

“I just think it was a brilliant idea originally,” Owen said in a behind-the-scenes featurette. “They’re serious pieces of work. They’re short films, but they’re serious filmmakers doing what they do best.”

The original BMW films, which was a collection referred to as The Hire, were made back in 2001 and 2002. Blomkamp will be joining a strong list of previous directors, which includes John Woo, Tony Scott, Ang Lee, Joe Carnahan, Guy Ritchie and Alejandro González Iñárritu.
