Blow dry bars are all the rage for well-heeled women around the world, and one just got a little bit chic-er. Blo, which bills itself as the “original” blow dry bar, announced this morning that Gwyneth Paltrow and celebrity hairstylist David Babaii have joined its creative team. Rumors have run rampant for months saying that Gwyneth was planning her own blow dry franchise, but now it is confirmed that the duo will offer input on Blo’s creative direction, growth plan, and brand strategy.
David Babaii, nicknamed ‘The King Of Curls’ by Vogue Magazine, has a roster of A-list celebrity clients around the globe. Known for creating some of the best red carpet styles and beautiful magazine covers, David’s vast experience and unique techniques will be incorporated across the Blo system.
“I cannot wait to grow Blo with Gwyneth and David. They are the perfect fit for our company,” said Ari Yakobson, Blo Blow Dry Bar’s CEO. “This combination and a proven business model is exciting. This is a tremendous benefit for our current and future Franchise Partners; our loyal guests are going to love this collaboration.”
Blo has seven signature styles on its no cuts, no color, just blow drys menu, including a sleek ponytail, a fishtail braid, and a glam, Kate Middleton-esque style called the Red Carpet.
