Bentley Motors is teaming with French leather goods designer Vincent du Sartel to create a new line of luxury handbags, marking Bentley’s first foray into fashion. du Sartel, who has held a design role for Louis Vuitton, has collaborated with Daniele Ceccomori, head of Bentley product design, to create two styles for the initial collection. The colors are inspired by Bentley paint finishes, such as Fireglow Red, Linen, Neptune Blue and Imperial Blue.
The two designs will be the Barnato and the Continental. The Barnato bag is named after Diana Barnato-Walker, the first British woman to break the sound barrier and a loyal Bentley customer. The Continental bag is named for the iconic Bentley model of the same name. The bags will run $7,000 and $5,000, respectively.
The bags will make their debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, CA, on August 18.
