The British luxury automaker has been stirring interest in the auto world with teasers about its much-awaited SUV. Based in Crewe, England, Bentley has kicked started 2015 by announcing the name of its all-new and ground-breaking luxury SUV at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Christened Bentley Bentayga, the sector-defining beast’s name has been inspired by the world’s largest transcontinental snowforest Taiga that crowns the northern hemisphere, as well as the rugged peak of the Roque Bentayga in the subtropical Canary Islands. However the luxury automaker has kept the rest of the details under wrap yet.
Along with the name Bentley has also unveiled an image as well as a video of Bentayga. The image features the side vent of the Bentayga which gives and impression of the iconic flying “B” logo without the wings. Also to ensure the Bentley Bentayga offers authentic all terrain capability, the company has put the new SUV under extreme tests. Bentley buffs can watch the hot climate test video above.
“Bentayga is a name that reflects what we know our SUV will do better than any other car in the world – combine the best automotive luxury with outstanding performance to take the Bentley experience to new environments,” states, Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors.
The new Bentley Bentayga will be revealed later in 2015, and on sale in 2016.
