While estranged Hollywood couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are heading for divorce, they have also listed their Cliff May-designed ranch in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles for $45 million. The 43 year old American actor, lately known for his role in psychological thriller Gone Girl, and his ex-wife had bought the property in March 2009 for $17.55 million. At that time, the 8,800 square feet house included five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, main house, an office that could be used as a personal gym, a swimming pool and a guesthouse. However, they have made extensive renovations over the years.
The Californian estate’s many recreational amenities include a piazza-sized canyon-view terrace, a soccer-pitch-sized lawn, a half-court basketball court, and a swimming pool with open-air cabana. Located in an affluent neighborhood and district in the Westside of the city of Los Angeles, the three-acre compound is privately situated down a long, gated, tree-lined and paparazzi-proof driveway.
It includes a multi-winged, ranch-style main residence designed and built by vaunted architect Cliff May in the late 1930s. The estate, which was owned by Gregory Peck in the late 1940s and early 1950s also occupies a private promontory that overlooks rustic Sullivan Canyon.
