The 2015 Monaco Grand Prix is behind us but Louis Vuitton brings it back in form of Petite Malle Grand Prix bag. The Grand Prix de Monaco 2015, a Formula One motor race, was held on 24 May 2015 at the Circuit de Monaco, a street circuit that runs through the principality of Monaco. Inspired by the same, the French fashion house’s Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière featured the same racing colors, checks and stripes on the exquisite Petite Malle.
Part of the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2015 collection, the tiny trunk is wrapped in embossed lambskin leather and accented with aged golden brass fittings and black calf-leather trim. The S lock hinged lid with magnetic closure opens to reveal a compact interior which is dressed with soft, quilted lambskin Malletage print lining. Featuring a flat pocket, it is spacious to carry the limited essentials of a lady. Inspired by the Louis Vuitton iconic trunks, Petite Malle actually translates to small trunk in English.
Designed to be worn cross-body or carried as a clutch, it comes with a detachable leather strap. Sized at 7.1 x 4.7 x 1.6 inches (Length x Height x Width), the race-inspired Petite Malle version is up for $5,500.
