It’s been more than 250 years since the Hennessy family created the Jas Hennessy & Co. cognac maison, whose legacy continues to be run to this day by the Fillioux family.
After 50 years at the helm of Hennessy Cognac, seventh generation master blender Yann Fillioux handed the keys of the cellar to his nephew Renaud Fillioux. To mark the transition, the maison has created Hennessy 8, a commemorative blend that comes in a limited edition bottle and case designed by Paris-based Israeli artist and designer Arik Levy.
Designed together with Baccarat’s fine crystals, Levy imagined an impressive 60kg carafe made from the raw materials associated with making cognac. Made up of eight crystal rings that loop around the whole bottle, the carafe is packaged within a real oak case made from Hennessy’s authentic cooperage and detailed with copper inlays as a nod to the metal tools used during the distilling process.
With only 250 bottles made, and no plans to produce any more, the limited edition Arik Levy x Hennessy 8 can be yours for 38,540 USD a pop.
