Time is what all of us want the most and Apple is delivering it in the smartest manner by debuting its first smartwatch in Paris. Cashing on the hype of the ongoing Fashion Week in the French capital, Apple Watch was on display at the Colette for just a day. On 30th September, Colette’s flagship store on Rue Saint-Honoré opened up as the world’s first boutique to debut the watch. Along with Apple fans, Colette customers as well as curious onlookers, the high-end boutique welcomed VIP guests like Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Chanel creative head Karl Lagerfeld too for the launch event.
The one-day-only-experience lasted for about eight hours and allowed attendees to gawk over the must-have-accessory of the season. Displayed on a wooden table covered with glass, Apple was clear about keeping the watch out of the reach of all.
Thrilled by the response, Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a tweet that it was “amazing to see the excited crowds today in Paris to preview Apple Watch for the first time.”
The pop-up launch at Colette was also marked with an exclusive window display. Each window featured three white pods, each holding an Apple Watch, displayed against a background of colorful balls that kept inflating and deflating. Though the watches are not scheduled to hit the shelves in 2014, with this Parisian public debut Apple has managed to boost the hype of the wearable tech among the fashion world.
