When American fashion designer Alexander Wang teamed up with leading multinational brand Samsung Electronics we expected to come across a techie-infused stylish outcome. Sadly, the Alexander Wang Wallie gym sack didn’t live up to it.
Albeit, the designing process can be attributed to technology as Wang had crowd-sourced sketches and images inspired by the Galaxy Note II. New York based designer had tapped friends, stylists and photographers to doodle images, patterns or photos on their Note II smartphones. The gray and black lambskin drawstring backpack sports abstract print which essentially captures the energy of NYC. At least the designer claims so! Elegantly trimmed with leather corners, it will retail for $550 from 22nd August.
And if techie-affiliation or a designer touch are not enough reasons to lure you to buy this bag then take a look at its noble feature too. Proceeds from the sale of the Wallie bag will benefit Art Start – a non-profit organization that supports arts workshops for kids at risk.
Alexander Wang encapsulates, “This collaboration is a great example of how technology and style can come together in an unexpected but really meaningful way.”
