If you’ve ever dreamed of visiting Napa Valley but have been overwhelmed by the wide array of wineries, then a guided tour by Kevin Macway’s company ACCESS might be right up your alley. There are already a number of wine tour businesses in the valley, but Macway is trying to elevate the driver-for-hire model to a new level. “As this idea began to take shape and I started paying attention to the existing driver-for-hire wine tour businesses here in the valley, I saw a clear opportunity to bring an elevated level of service, hospitality and finesse to this category.”
ACCESS is the latest venture for Macway who just brought his 21-year-long career at The French Laundry, a renowned restaurant in Yontville, to a close. However, the entrepreneur hopes that the skills he developed throughout his restaurant career will serve him well as a guide to the valley. “My favorite part of my role in the dining room was connecting on a personal level and finding ways to create memorable experiences for our guests,” he said. “I knew if I could parlay that concept into my own venture, I could create a business that would be personally fulfilling.”
“For more than twenty years, Kevin has helped make meaningful memories for our guests at The French Laundry. His dedication to hospitality is unparalleled and any guest of his will be in good hands as they tour our special valley,” added chef Thomas Keller.
The price for guided tours with Macway starts at $90 per hour, with a 5 hour minimum. More info.
