Abu Dhabi Macy’s Is The First To Open Outside The US

A part of the fashionable New York is extending out to the Middle East. The fashionistas of the UAE are all set to welcome one of the America’s biggest department stores in Abu Dhabi. Known for its niche in popular culture and the diversity of its merchandise, Macy’s will open its doors for the first time outside America in the capital’s Al Maryah Island by 2018. Along with the first Macy’s department store outside the US, the Al Tayer Group also has plans to open the region’s second Bloomingdale’s store at Abu Dhabi’s Al Maryah Central. Dubai has already been home to Bloomingdale’s since last five years.

205,000 square foot of Macy’s and 230,000 square foot of Bloomingdale’s will allow shopaholics to indulge in the vast retail paradise. Both Macy’s and Bloomingdales will spread out to four levels each and there will be a parking extension that goes straight into the third floor. The department stores will be situated in Al Maryah Central, a 2.3 million square foot shopping centre that is being developed in the capital’s Al Maryah Island. Bringing unrivalled shopping experience to customers in Abu Dhabi, both the openings will add to the flourishing retail development in the Middle East region.
