The 86th Academy Awards in Los Angeles lead the whole Hollywood brigade on to the red carpet. All the actresses, dressed in designer gowns and jewelry, stepped out to make their best statement at the most awaited award ceremony, The Oscars. Most of the stars in attendance did their bit to wow the fashion police as well as the fans around the world. Along with curiosity to know the winners of the film awards, part of the fun of the Academy Awards is also watching out for the best dressed celebrities on the red carpet. From pale nudes to shades of blues, glamour quotient rose high along with few bright colors on the rain soaked red carpet for 2014 Oscars.

The above featured image shows Angelina Jolie in a long-sleeve, beaded silver Elie Saab Couture gown along with Blue Jasmine winner actress, Cate Blanchett in a pale gold Armani Privé cap-sleeve gown. Cate has worn Chopard jewels to complement the Swarovski studded floral theme gown. Pictured in between the two is best supporting actress winner, Lupita Nyong’o, in Prada gown and Fred Leighton headband and jewelry.

She picked a $2 million diamond necklace by Neil Lane to add some oomph by letting it hang down longer on her back.

ANNE-HATHAWAY-Oscar_2014Anne Hathaway sashayed down the red carpet decked in Gucci from head to toe. She settled for an open back, black silk crepe column dress with a thigh high slit at the back. Dazzling with a geometric crystal-embroidered bodice, the gown was teamed up with patent leather platform heels and a black plexiglass clutch.

The strapless gown took cues from a tux and featured a fitted bodice and subtle train. Tiffany Blue Book Collection’s rodochrosite, lapis and turquoise gold earrings added some color to her appearance.
