Would you pay up to $10 for a bowl of souped-up cereal? Kellogg’s thinks so, as the cereal company is set to open New York City’s first permanent cereal bar.
For the cafe, Kellogg’s has tapped pastry chef and dessert wizard Christina Tosi of Momofuku Milk Bar fame, to help develop the cereal menu which includes traditional milk-based bowls and ice cream sundaes.
Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, for instance, is jazzed up with fresh strawberries and green tea powder, while Special K and Frosted Flakes are topped by pistachios, lemon zest and thyme.
The breakfast-for-dessert menu, meanwhile, tops soft serve ice cream with Fruit Loops, lime zest, marshmallows and passion fruit jam, or Honey Smacks, honey, toasted pecans and banana chips.
Kellogg’s NYC is located in Times Square at 1600 Broadway and opens its doors July 4. Prices range from $6.50 to $9.50. Menus will change every three months.
