Shaking down worries and stress is easy when you have a place to retreat to. This urban cabin plays the role of a customized dream retreat set among trees in an area of São Paulo, Brazil. Originally an abandoned house, the newly remodeled cabin was designed by Fabio Galeazzo to be used as an “exotic meets rustic” comfort zone.
Using retrofit construction techniques to expand the heavy load support, the designer imagined a huge bamboo beams framework and green thermal tiles on the roof that create a unique cabin. Inspired by works of modernist painter Tarsila do Amaral, the modern shack received colorful geometric shapes that contrast the dense surrounding vegetation with style. Inside, the NestRest chair by Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety acts as a floating comfort spot, while interior details shape a strong connection to the outdoors. Certificated management timber floors alongside exotic brown granite create a background for designer furniture like the Chifruda chair by designer Sergio Rodrigues or Campana brothers’ 2 in 1 dining table.
