China continues to show an insatiable demand for luxury products and services. The latest development is transforming a former Soviet Aircraft Carrier into a luxury hotel.
Binhai Aircraft Park has bought the Kiev from the Russian government and is turning it into China’s first aircraft carrier hotel.
The ship will throw off the sparse trappings and offer luxury accommodations. The owners believe that China’s burgeoning role as a world superpower (the nation recently launched its first aircraft carrier) will spur interest in the floating hotel.
Pricing to stay aboard the Kiev, or a ‘launch’ date for the hotel, have yet to be announced.
