Starbucks is about to officially open a new concept store in Amsterdam, on the 8th of March. Located in the famous Rembrandt Square, the shop has a total surface of 430 square meters and is characterized by a highly original design.
The new concept store was developed within a subterranean space, replacing a historic bank. Its overall appearance stays true to its origins: “With its Slow Coffee Theatre, hyper-local design, floating community gathering spaces and on-site bakery, Starbucks The Bank is a glimpse into Starbuck’s vision of the future. A large beautiful store inspired by contemporary Dutch culture and its deep coffee tradition, The Bank was purposely created to push Starbucks beyond its comfort zone in terms of innovation and experimentation. What works in the Amsterdam store will make its way to the rest of Europe“- explained the project developers.
According to Contemporist, there were more than 35 artists and craftsman working on this project, under the close supervision of Liz Muller, the Concept Design director for Starbucks . With various events programmed here, this new setting aims at being an important cultural gathering space for the people of Amsterdam, as well as for the travelers worldwide.
