There’s a particular pleasure in belonging to something crafted for discerning wine lovers. Joining a wine club offered by a boutique winery located in California’s Napa Valley or Sonoma is a guaranteed way to secure coveted bottles and exclusive experiences.
From exclusive vineyard releases and barrel tastings to invitation-only dinners and behind-the-gate experiences, membership transforms occasional enjoyment into an ongoing relationship with terroir, tradition, and the artisans who shape them.
Wine Clubs offer curated selections that reflect each estate’s signature—small-production wines whether they be chardonnays, cabernets or pinot noirs, as well as nuanced blends that rarely reach retail shelves. Equally valuable are the experiential returns: private tours through vineyards, expert-led tastings, priority reservations at sought-after tasting rooms, and first access to limited vintages.
For the luxury consumer, these privileges cultivate not just a cellar of rare wines, but a repertoire of exclusive experiences. And joining a wine club is a practical luxury. Consistent allocations protect against scarcity and vintage variability, while concierge-level services streamline collecting, gifting, and cellar management. Whether expanding a well-curated collection or seeking an inspired way to entertain, membership in a Napa or Sonoma wine club offers both provenance and privilege—an intimate, ongoing dialogue with some of the world’s most celebrated vineyards.
Here are a few of the wine clubs we love most:

Under the thoughtful stewardship of owners Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, Bouchaine has emerged as one of the Carneros AVA’s most respected producers of sustainably-farmed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Bouchaine’s focus is to craft vibrant, exciting wines with the elegance of Burgundy, the exuberance of California and the terroir of Carneros. The winery produces more than 20 wines from the 100-acre estate, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Bouchaine’s breathtaking visitor’s center includes an expansive terrace with 270 degree views of the vineyard. Perched atop a hill and shaped in a sweeping semi-circle meant to evoke an open embrace, it offers panoramic vineyard and bay views that set the tone for what Bouchaine does best: welcoming people in. Terrace tastings, which cost $75 per person, include a selection of five of the winery’s estate grown and small production Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. Bouchaine offers a more casual tasting experience in its garden that includes four of its limited production wines for $45 per person.
The winery also offers a unique program in which guests can learn about the ancient art of falconry led by an expert falconer. The interactive experience with the winery’s resident hawks, owls, and falcons enable guests to learn how the birds aid vineyard harvests and serve as a sustainable, eco-friendly method for protecting grapevines from pests. The experience, available by reservation only every Friday, costs $119 per person and is limited to a group of 30 maximum participants. The experience is paired with a curated flight of Bouchaine wine.

Wine club members receive exclusive benefits such as unlimited garden tastings (by reservation), special members-only events and a 20% discount off all wines. “We also give our wine club members complimentary terrace tastings each year which are transferable,” says Chris Kajani, Bouchaine’s president and winemaker. “They can be given to friends, family, coworkers or whoever they prefer.”
Information about Bouchaine’s wine club can be seen here.

Frank Family Vineyards has become a household name for lovers of luxury Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay and remains a leading producer and must-visit winery in the Napa Valley.
Having first opened its doors in July 1993, Frank Family’s reputation for having the friendliest hospitality in Napa Valley has fans flocking to the tasting room on Larkmead Lane.
Today founders Rich Frank, former president of Disney Studios and his wife Leslie, an Emmy award-winning broadcast news journalist, are active in all aspects of the winery, and are often flying to, or hosting, Frank Family’s next charitable event. Senior Winemaker and General Manager Todd Graff, who joined Frank Family in 2003, oversees all day-to-day operations. Winemaker Alicia Sylvester joined the team in 2024 and works closely alongside Todd to produce estate-driven wines from some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyard sites.
In 2023, Frank Family opened the newest addition to their hospitality portfolio, The Miller House. Rising over the vast members lawn, behind Frank Family’s Craftsman House-turned tasting room, the Miller House serves as a canvas for the winery’s most exclusive and elevated experiences. The Miller House honors the endless contributions of Founder Leslie Frank, born Leslie Miller, whose vision was to build a unique and special entertaining area for Frank Family guests. The Miller House showcases Leslie’s signature chic style combined with the farmhouse elegance of renowned architect Howard J. Backen.
Guests of The Miller House experience an elevated wine tasting featuring a curated selection of current-release sparkling and still vineyard-designated wines. Each wine is thoughtfully paired with locally sourced cheeses and charcuterie, demonstrating how the aromas, textures and flavor profiles of Frank Family’s estate-driven wines are accentuated by food.

Wine clubs offered by Frank Family Vineyards include the Estates Club with limited-production, wine club exclusive, and single-vineyard wines. There is also a sparkling wine club, a Chardonnay wine club, a Sampler club and an Estates single-vineyard club. All clubs offer a choice of either six, 12 or 24 bottles shipped each year. Wine club members receive four complimentary Estate tastings for up to four people per year and discounts on elevated tasting experiences and savings on additional wine purchases made throughout the year.
Frank Family Vineyards rewards longtime club members through its tiered Wine Club membership system, which provides increasing financial savings, exclusive access, and experiential perks based on the volume of wine purchased annually. “We were reward longevity in a tiered system where after three years, you receive better savings, and then after five years the savings are even greater,” explains Leslie Frank. “Likewise, we offer an equal value credit. This is an credit on the wines that come in your shipment. It’s a way of recognizing that interest and affection of the ones, but also a way of ensuring loyalty.”

Set in the heart of California’s Russian River Valley, Inman Family Winery distinguishes itself through an unwavering commitment to sustainability, soil health, and biodiversity. Founded in 2000 by Kathleen Inman, the estate was conceived with a clear vision: to craft exceptional wines while embracing regenerative farming and environmentally conscious practices at every level.
From its inception, the winery was designed with intention. Repurposed and recycled materials were thoughtfully integrated throughout the property, minimizing environmental impact without compromising aesthetic appeal. Solar panels generate the entirety of the winery’s energy, while the tasting room reflects a sense of heritage with its wood and cabinetry made from reclaimed from a historic barn once on the site. Even the countertops tell a story, fashioned from recycled glass sourced through San Francisco’s municipal program. Water conservation is equally considered; steam-cleaning techniques dramatically reduce usage, and all wastewater is carefully recycled.
In the vineyards, a philosophy of minimal intervention prevails. Organically certified inputs and cover crops not only enrich the soil but also encourage vines to develop smaller, more intensely flavored berries. The absence of tilling fosters a thriving ecosystem, welcoming beneficial insects, birds, and wildlife. Compost derived from Bay Area food scraps serves as a natural fertilizer, reinforcing the estate’s closed-loop approach.
In the cellar, winemaker Kathleen Inman’s restrained hand guides the process: “I don’t believe in adding water, acid, or sugar—I simply allow the wines to evolve naturally,” she says. The results speak for themselves. Today, Inman Family Winery is celebrated for its elegant portfolio, including Pinot Noir, the delicately crafted Endless Crush Rosé of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and a refined selection of sparkling wines including the Extra Brut Luxe Cuvée, Brut Rosé, and Blanc de Noir.
Equally distinctive is the winery’s direct-to-consumer model, a strategic decision that allows for both accessibility and integrity in pricing. Early on, Kathleen Inman realized in order to be profitable, they needed to sell direct to the consumer in order to keep the prices down.

By bypassing traditional distribution channels, the Inmans were able to develop a closer relationship with their clientele while preserving the value of their wines. The Inmans developed an innovative wine club, designed with a modern, highly personalized approach. Their members enjoy the freedom to curate their own selections and delivery schedules, complemented by preferred pricing, exclusive access to limited releases, and intimate tasting experiences at the estate. It is a model that reflects the winery itself—thoughtful and flexible.
Members receive a 20% discount on all wine purchases—for example, the 2022 Pratt Sexton Road Pinot Noir is priced at $60 for wine club members, compared to a regular price of $75. Four bottles are included with each shipment and members choose the frequency of the deliveries which can be monthly or every two, three or four months. Flat-rate shipping (based on a 4 bottle minimum) is offered. Wine Club members also enjoy complimentary tastings at the winery for themselves and up to three guests and receive exclusive access to limited releases and pre-releases. Information about Inman’s wine club can be seen here.
Inman’s wine tastings feature at least five wines and are held on Thursdays through Mondays from 11am-4pm on the patio or inside the tasting room (the tasting fee of $30 is refundable with a purchase of $150). Wine tasting fees are waived for wine club members and up to three guests. A wine tasting experience featuring both still and sparkling wines personally hosted by Kathleen Inman can be reserved for $100 per person (a discounted rate is offered to wine club members).
Walking tours of the vineyard and gardens are offered seasonally.

Situated in the heart of the Napa Valley, Sullivan Rutherford Estate has been Rutherford’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot specialist for over five decades. The 26-acre winery was founded in 1972, during the apex of the boutique winery movement. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines were first planted in 1978. Today, Sullivan is known for producing high-quality, small quantities of Bordeaux varieties and for championing Merlot at the same level as Cabernet Sauvignon.
In early 2018, a family-driven group led by Juan Pablo (JP) Torres-Padilla purchased Sullivan Rutherford Estate and assembled a world-class team of exceptional individuals in the wine industry, currently General Manager Joshua Lowell, winemaker Jeff Cole and director of sales and client relations Erin Callahan.
Sullivan Rutherford benefits from a terroir that has a heavy percentage of gravel and sand on the property. Unlike most other vineyards in Napa this 26 acre parcel (only 22 acres are planted) has very little clay, which retains water, enabling its vines to produce smaller berries that make better, bigger and more robust wines.
Sullivan is an estate winery, which means it uses only grapes it grows itself (the winery has expanded by purchasing small plots of land elsewhere in Napa Valley where it planted more vines including merlot). “Every aspect of Sullivan from the winemaking to the bottling and everything else is done here onsite,” says its winemaker, Jeff Cole. “We own the whole process, so purchasing fruit is not an option because we strive to have consistency and quality.”
“Stylistically, our wines are an outlier as far as Napa Merlot goes because we endeavor to make Merlot that stands shoulder to shoulder with the greatest Merlots in the world,” adds Cole, who has been with the winery since 2013. “Our merlots are savory, age-worthy and serious.. We want to make a wine that people are going to have to think about, and that they remember.”
Sullivan Rutherford has realized its wines compare very well to old world wines, including those from Bordeaux and the Bolgheri region in Italy, Cole explains. “We offer a comparative tastings here to showcase that our wines are on par with the best in the world, from regions such as Pomerol from Bordeaux.”
The Cabernet Sauvignon from Sullivan Rutherford Estate is also memorable. It is no wonder that the 2021 Sullivan Rutherford Estate J.O. Sullivan Founder’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon made Wine Spectator’s Top100 Wines of the World List in 2024.

All members of its “Private Membership” wine club are invited to visit the winery for a complimentary guided tour of the estate grounds, vineyards and the historic John Marsh Davis-designed private residence, followed by a seated tasting inside or outside in the tranquil garden courtyard. Normally priced at $150 per person, this Founder’s Tasting experience includes a tour of the winery’s garden and vineyards and a seated tasting experience with a selection of J.O. Sullivan Founder’s Reserve Collection.
Sullivan Rutherford’s private membership club is geared towards wine collectors and those looking for exceptional wines produced in limited quantities. Benefits of membership include exclusive access to its Rutherford Estate, preferred rates at Sttupa Estate Napa Valley (formerly Poetry Inn), its five star luxury boutique hotel, and unique tasting and culinary experiences.

The Half Case membership offers a15% savings on stays at Sttupa Estate Napa Valley with shipping included with each membership release. Members receive four complimentary Founder’s tastings and an annual private chef lunch experience for four guests. The three-bottle membership includes a 5% savings on stays at Sttupa Estate Napa Valley and two complimentary Founder’s tastings. Information about its private membership wine club can be seen here.
Sullivan Rutherford Estate is open daily for visits by appointment only.

Sonoma’s Three Sticks is 100% estate, which means it owns, farms and produces the grapes that it uses to make its wines. Renowned for its Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, Three Sticks also produces limited quantities of Pinot Blanc and rosé—each bottle reflecting the winery’s commitment to craftsmanship, terroir, and understated luxury.
Set in the heart of downtown Sonoma (around the corner from the El Dorado Hotel, which is the top hotel in Downtown Sonoma), Three Sticks welcomes guests at its beautifully preserved and historic Vallejo-Casteñada Adobe, a landmark dating back to circa 1842.
At the Adobe, guests enjoy an intimate, by-appointment-only tasting. Thoughtfully curated and highly personalized, these guided experiences invite guests to explore the winery’s portfolio in a setting that feels both exclusive and warmly inviting, with optional culinary pairings enhancing the journey. Reservations are limited to just six guests per party, ensuring a rare sense of privacy, while Wine Club members enjoy access in a private member lounge.
A highlight at Three Sticks is a curated food experience paired with each of the wines. In partnership with Brooke’s Table, guests journey through the flavors of California through local farmers and growers in a relaxed lunch while enjoying thoughtfully paired estate wines ($105 for members and $125 non-members).
Its wine club ranges from the Tres Palitos with three bottles shipped twice a year (spring and fall) to larger shipments of 12 or 24 bottles a year. The Mariposa level includes five custom cases annually (24 bottles in spring and 36 bottles in fall, excluding Casteñada wines). Members receive complimentary ground shipping on all orders and member allocations plus complimentary wine tastings and special member prices for signature experiences. Wine club members have exclusive access to a private lounge at The Adobe where they can enjoy a tasting, or enjoy a bottle from Three Sticks wine list. Information about its wine allocations can be seen here.

These events are typically hosted by a Wine Club member at their private residence or at a private venue such as a country club. A Three Sticks representative presents a selection of current-release wines, guiding guests through a seamless tasting tailored to the host’s vision. Guests need not have a deep knowledge about wine, explains Kerollis. “Sometimes there will be guests who have never before had a pinot noir and are not very familiar with red wine, while others are highly knowledgeable and might ask a technical question about malolactic fermentation,” she adds.
Over the past year, gatherings have been hosted across the country, including in Texas, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota and New York. The gatherings might be a reception for 25 to 35 guests or a more formal seated dinner for 12 to 20 guests. Three Sticks provides the wines and expertise while the hosts organize the rest of the event, including the food pairings. There is no minimum purchase requirement. Visits to Three Sticks can be booked online.
