New Yorkers are sitting tight as Victoria Beckham’s first New York office is scheduled for a February opening at 511 West 25th Street. However Londoners are rejoicing over the official announcement by the posh business entrepreneur of debuting her standalone store at 36 Dover Street in London.
Set to open this fall, VB’s first shop is designed to spread over 7,000 square foot. All set to go big in every way possible, Victoria has commissioned architect Farshid Moussavi, who is renowned for 2012 London Olympic Park, to do up this store’s interiors. Though not many details are available about the decor, it is known that Posh is keen to connect the three-floor space by drilling a massive hole through the middle.
Eager to make shoppers and fans to see her brand through her eyes for the first time, she quoted, “I think the time is now because I know my customer.” Undoubtedly her first outlet will include collections from Victoria Beckham, Victoria Victoria Beckham as well as denim, optical and other accessories. She has taken her first big step in to the real retail market which will help her control the buy after debuting e-commerce website last year.
About the lady and her London store, architect Farshid Moussavi stated “She is a woman that loves fashion as well. She has quite a conceptual eye, which I like. We want to make something different without making it overly complicated. I just want it to feel real for me.”
Though she loves America, Victoria revealed that Britain is her strongest market, followed by America. And as the U.S. is considered to be one the largest luxury market in the world, VB states, “I want to focus on the U.S. this year. To take it to the next level, I need a team on the ground living and breathing everything here in America.” That explains her commitment to American growth and her decision to open a 4,000 square feet office in New York.
