A 20-carat gold Grand Complication Vacheron Constantin pocket watch sold for $1.8 million at Christie’s – three times the estimated pre-auction price.
The watch was made for Packard automaker James Ward Packard in 1918 – and sold by the Packard family.
The watch represents the highest sale price of any Vacheron Constantin timepiece in the U.S.
