iPad and Twitter fans will rejoice. The official Twitter app for Apple’s tablet is here, and the reviews are in. The results have been quite good.
Here’s some of the buzz:
The official Twitter app for iPad is finally here, and star developer Loren Brichter has polished yet another gem. Twitter for iPad sports a really elegant interface that’s significantly faster and more intuitive than competing Twitter clients we’ve tested (such as Twitterific and Tweetdeck). – Reuters
The free app isn’t just the long-awaited first-party Twitter client—it’s one of the best Twitter tools available for reading feeds, surpassing TweetDeck for iPad. Creating new messages can be a bewildering due to a cluttered composition screen, but if you’re a Twitter devotee it’s worth a look. – PC Mag
In all, we think Twitter for iPad is best summed up by Ars creative director Aurich Lawson. It’s part cool, part “I have no idea what’s happening right now.” We’re not sure what the solution is to make features more discoverable (and more importantly, more understandable upon first discovery), and to be fair, some of things are pretty useful once you get the hang of them. It’s just that we’re used to the simple elegance of the iPhone app, and the iPad app seems to turn all of that on its head. – Ars Technica
